While setting up your Cosmos - Intranet for Confluence, you might want to keep the changes hidden from the broader employee base until everything is perfectly in place. Creating an "Under Construction" page is an excellent way to achieve this.
This step is not mandatory but highly recommended for maintaining a seamless transition to your new intranet solution. Additionally, using a sandbox environment for initial setup and testing can also be a beneficial strategy.
Steps to enable the "Under Construction" page
From your Confluence navigation bar, access Cosmos by selecting it from the Apps dropdown.
Within Cosmos, proceed to the
Settings
area.In the Settings menu, locate and click on
General Settings.
Within General Settings, click on the
Under Construction
tab.Toggle the feature to "On" to activate the Under Construction mode.
Enter a title for your Under Construction page that clearly indicates the ongoing development.
Provide a brief description to inform users about the current status and what they can expect.
If available, link to a page or resource where users can find more details or estimated timelines for completion.
Once the Under Construction screen is activated, only administrators will have the ability to continue with further setup and customization of the Cosmos intranet. All other users will see the Under Construction page when they attempt to access the Cosmos.
