Optics is now running on Forge - What you need to do
Optics now runs on Atlassian Forge, Atlassian’s next-generation platform for Cloud apps. Forge provides stronger security, improved reliability, and deeper integration with Atlassian products.
To start using the new Forge-based version of Optics, you simply need to update the app in the Manage Apps section. Atlassian does not automatically migrate apps from Connect to Forge, so the update needs to be triggered manually by following the steps below.
What you need to do
To update the app, Site Administrator or Confluence Administrator permissions are required, along with App Admin access.
Find Apps in the left navigation.
Click … next to Apps.
Select Manage Apps.
Find Optics in the list of installed apps.
Click View App Details.
Locate the Update button in the top right corner.
What happens after the update
Once the update is completed:
Optics runs fully on Atlassian’s Forge infrastructure
No additional configuration changes are required
Existing pages and content created with Optics continue to work
New templates for Optics ✨
As part of the ongoing evolution of Optics, we are continuously expanding Dex and its capabilities to help you create structured, visually engaging, and consistent Confluence pages using ready-to-use templates, which you can also present with just one click, all within Confluence.
