Foundations
Foundations are key to turning your layout idea into a visually engaging design. These elements act as the building blocks, including colors, images, and logos, giving life to your design and creating a memorable user experience.
Colors
Selecting color palettes that align with your brand and maintain consistency throughout your Confluence design is crucial for effectively conveying your brand's identity, creating a visually appealing user experience, and accurately representing your organization.
Four main types of color palettes for Optics:
UI Elements → Fill, Border, Icon color for button, accent color for cards and more.
Text → Font color for all macros where users can change it.
Text Highlights → Only for highlight feature in Title and Text, and Designer macros.
Background → Designer section backgrounds.
It's possible to save up to twelve colours per palette.
Images
To establish the visual design style for Confluence pages, you can curate an inspiring gallery of images as a reference. These images can serve as inspiration for the desired aesthetic, usable in cards, designer backgrounds, and anywhere images are employed throughout our macros.
It is possible to save up to 20 images. Allowed image formats are JPG, JPEG and PNG. There is no limit for the image size, but we recommend to keep it under 1MB.

Macros library
Macros are elevating the visual aspects of your Confluence pages, leading to improved content adoption and user engagement.
Confluence administrators and users with special permissions can manage macros from the library or directly from the macro create dialogue in page edit mode. Designs stored in the library are accessible to all Confluence users, with no limit on the number of macros that can be stored.
