Tabs
Tabs are UI elements that allow multiple pieces of content to be organized within a single area on a Confluence page. They help present large amounts of content in a more compact and structured way, reducing the space normally required while improving readability and navigation.
Insert Tabs
Open the desired page or create a new one.
Enter edit mode, then click the ‘+’ icon in the toolbar or press ‘/’ on the keyboard to open the module menu.
In the search bar, type “Tabs” and select it from the list to open the configuration dialog.
Configuration
Tabs provide flexible configuration options for managing layout, styling, and content. Settings are divided between layout options that apply to the entire Tabs module and individual settings for each selected tab.
Layout
Layout options control the overall structure of the Tabs module. One of three predefined styles can be selected, and Tabs can be created, reordered, and named to define the desired layout and structure.
Selected tab
When a Tab is selected, individual settings become available for configuring that specific Tab.
The title can be updated, and content can be added in three different ways:
Manual content: Create content directly inside the Tab using the built-in editor.
Import page: Import content from an existing Confluence page. Imported content becomes editable within the Tab and is no longer linked to the original source page.
Load page: Display content from an existing Confluence page while maintaining a live connection to the source. Any future changes made on the original page are automatically reflected in the Tab.
Editor
Tabs use Atlassian’s legacy editor for content creation and editing inside the macro.
While this editor remains available in Confluence, Atlassian no longer actively supports or develops it. As a result, some limitations apply when creating content inside Tabs:
Third-party apps and macros are not supported inside the editor
Some media and embedded content may not be available
Content formatting and display may differ from the standard Confluence cloud editor
