Pulse to Optics

Pulse to Optics

We recently integrated all Pulse features into Optics. Going forward, all new features and updates will be developed within Optics — a significantly more powerful and flexible platform than Pulse. This change enables faster feature delivery, simpler licensing, and a unified user experience.

Pulse is no longer available on the Atlassian Marketplace and cannot be installed by new customers. Existing customers will continue to receive support, compatibility updates, and bug fixes — but no new features will be released.

Below you’ll find what these changes mean for Pulse users, for those using both Pulse and Optics, and what to expect going forward.

Pulse-only users

If you’re currently using only Pulse, you can continue using it as usual and will receive support, compatibility updates, and bug fixes — but no new features will be released. That’s why we recommend all Pulse users switch to Optics.

Importantly, there is no loss in functionality—everything you currently use in Pulse is available in Optics, and much more will be added over time. There is no negative feature gap.

Here’s what you need to do to switch to Optics:

  1. Install Optics from the Atlassian Marketplace and start a free trial.

  2. Contact us at contact@caelor.com to whitelist your Confluence URL. To make things easier, we’ve prepared an email template you can use:

Subject: Pulse to Optics — Request to whitelist my Confluence URL

Hey there,

I would like to make the switch from Pulse to Optics. Please whitelist my Confluence URL, my instance name is: yoursitename

Regards

Where to find your instance name:
The instance name of your Confluence site is essentially the URL you use to access it. For example, if your Confluence site is accessible at https://yoursitename.atlassian.net, then yoursitename is your instance name.

  1. After you receive our email confirmation, unsubscribe from the Pulse license — here’s a step-by-step guide from Atlassian on how to unsubscribe. Please do not uninstall the app — keeping Pulse installed ensures your existing Pulse modules stay intact. With this setup, you will only pay for Optics going forward while using the features of both apps.

To sum it up:

  • Pulse is now fully integrated into Optics.

  • All current Pulse features exist in Optics, and new features will be added there.

  • Make the switch to Optics to benefit from all future features and improvements.

  • Unsubscribing (not uninstalling) from Pulse stops payments while keeping the app functional — but only after we’ve whitelisted your Confluence site. Please contact us to start this process.

  • Both apps need to be installed, but only Optics will be licensed and paid.

Using Pulse and Optics together

If you’re currently using both Pulse and Optics, you can reduce costs. Since Pulse is now part of Optics, you can simplify your setup and move forward while paying only for your Optics license.

Your existing Pulse content will continue working exactly as before — as long as the Pulse app remains installed. We’ll simply whitelist your Confluence URL so you can use Pulse for free.
