Content Formatting Modules
Content formatting modules provide powerful tools to structure, format, and enhance Confluence pages with clean, visual elements. Instead of long walls of text, they enable layouts that are easy to scan, on-brand, and engaging, all without requiring design expertise.
Cards, Announcements, Panels, and more
The Content Formatting group includes a collection of flexible modules designed to improve readability, add emphasis, and guide users through content:
Cards → Summarize or link to resources in a visual way.
Announcements → Highlight urgent updates directly on a page.
Panels → Draw attention to tips, warnings, or messages.
Button → Create calls-to-action and simple navigation.
Countdown → Display upcoming events or deadlines.
Image Slider → Showcase multiple images in an interactive format.
Title and Text → Add branded headings and styled text blocks.
Divider → Break up content sections with clean separators.
HTML → Embed custom HTML when additional flexibility is needed.
Examples
Use Cards to create a clean, visual overview of project resources.
Add an Announcement to share urgent updates with your team.
Insert a Countdown for an upcoming release date or deadline.
Combine Panels, Dividers, and Titles to give structure to long documentation pages.
Use Image Slider to present multiple visuals in a compact, interactive way.
Insert module
Open the desired page or create a new one.
Enter edit mode, then click the ‘+’ icon in the toolbar or press ‘/’ on the keyboard to open the module menu.
In the search bar, type “Viz” or “Optics” and select it from the list to open the configuration dialog. Alternatively, type the specific module name (“Cards”, “Button”, etc.) directly and select the Viz (by Optics).
In the configuration dialog, either select a module template from the overview page or navigate to modules from the left sidebar.
