Dex Macro
Dex is a macro in the Optics that turns Confluence pages into engaging, presentation-ready content. It introduces prebuilt, beautifully styled blocks designed to make communication clear, consistent, and visually impactful, whether the goal is to share updates, align stakeholders, or present live.
Unlike standard Confluence formatting, Dex focuses on storytelling. A single block can be used to highlight key information, or multiple blocks can be combined into a full page or presentation. With one click, any Dex page can switch between page view and presentation mode, eliminating the need to copy content into external slide tools.
Dex is part of the Optics Advanced Edition. Access will be limited to sites with a valid Advanced Edition license. Learn more about editions.
Insert Dex
Open the desired page or create a new one.
Enter edit mode, then click the ‘+’ icon in the toolbar or press ‘/’ on the keyboard to open the module menu.
In the search bar, type “Dex” or “Optics” and select Dex (by Optics) from the list to open the configuration dialog.
In the configuration dialog, either select a module template from the overview page or navigate to Cards from the left sidebar.
