Page and Presentation Modes
When published, Dex content can be viewed in two ways: Page mode for reading inside Confluence and Presentation mode for presenting full screen. Both modes use the same content, so there is no need to duplicate work. The view can be switched at any time depending on the situation.
After all blocks are added and ready for publishing, it can be defined whether the content should appear in Page Mode or Presentation Mode. Both modes use the same content, so there is no need to duplicate work, and the view can be switched at any time depending on the situation.
In Page Mode, blocks are displayed one below the other, forming a continuous page.
In Presentation Mode, only one first is shown at a time, with navigation arrows appearing on hover to move left or right between blocks.
In both modes, a presentation button is displayed on hover. Selecting it starts the presentation in full screen, always maintaining a 16:9 ratio for consistent viewing.
Browser toolbar limitation
Due to limitations in the Atlassian Connect framework, the browser toolbar cannot be hidden automatically when starting full-screen presentation mode. It must be hidden manually after the presentation begins. This limitation will be removed once the app is migrated to Forge.
Workaround:
On Windows, press F11 to hide the toolbar.
On macOS, press Control + Command + F to enter full-screen mode.
To navigate between slides in Presentation Mode, use the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard. To exit full screen, press Escape. This returns the Confluence page to its normal view mode.
