Where can feedback or feature requests for Dex be shared?
Feedback is highly valued. Ideas and requests can be shared directly with the Caelor team through the feedback via support tickets.
Is Dex available for guest and anonymous users?
Yes. If guests or anonymous users have access to the Confluence page, they will also be able to view Dex content and start presentations.
Using Dex
What is the difference between Dex and Viz?
Viz provides formatting modules such as cards, panels, buttons, and people highlights. It focuses on structure, layout, and visual clarity for Confluence pages. Dex, on the other hand, uses blocks and templates designed for storytelling. It allows full pages or presentations to be built with ready-made layouts, styled content, and one-click Presentation Mode.
Can blocks be used without Presentation Mode?
Yes. Blocks can always be used in Page Mode, creating a structured and polished Confluence page without switching to Presentation Mode. Read more here.
Is there a limit to how many blocks can be added?
No. There is no limit on the number of blocks that can be added to a page or presentation.
Can blocks be bigger
No. Blocks always keep the same size to remain presentation-ready. This ensures a consistent layout and makes it possible to switch seamlessly between Page Mode and Presentation Mode at any time.
Advanced Edition
Is Dex available in all Optics editions?
No. Dex is part of the Optics Advanced Edition. The Viz macro is included in the Standard Edition, while Dex macro is only available in Advanced.
Can Dex be tested before upgrading?
Yes. Dex can be trialed for 30 days, and the trial can be started by organization admins. After the trial ends, a valid Advanced license is required to continue using Dex.
What happens to Dex pages and presentations after the trial ends or if no valid license is available?
Pages and presentations created with Dex remain accessible in edit mode, but once published, the content will appear blurred and presentation cannot be started until a valid license is active.
Can existing Viz content still be used if Dex is not licensed?
Yes. The Viz macro is part of the Standard Edition and remains fully functional regardless of the Dex license status.
