People Overview
How to use
Please follow these steps to insert a People widget on a Confluence page:
Navigate to the Confluence page you wish to edit or create a new page.
Once in edit mode, either click the plus icon in the navigation bar (insert elements) or press '/' on your keyboard to bring up the macro list.
Type "Pulse" in the search bar, then choose the Pulse macro from the options displayed.
When the configuration dialog appears, simply click on the "People" tab to explore all the available People widgets. Click on People card to open the configuration dialogue.
Configuration options
The configuration of the People widget is organized into three tabs: Layout, People, and Design, simplifying the customization process.
Layout
The Layout tab lets you decide how to show People on your page, like picking a view type and setting up the display of People cards.
View → Choose between card and list view types to best match your content's presentation style. For both views, the layout can be customized by selecting the number of columns, with an option to include up to 4 columns. This allows better content presentation, adapting the visual arrangement to specific preferences.
Display cards in full width → Displaying cards in full width improves the UX when using the macro across different page layouts. When enabled, space cards will not have a fixed width and will fill the entire layout. If disabled, there is an option to align cards left, centered, or right.
Elements to display → With a valid Cosmos license, you can customize People cards to include information like position and department, thanks to the Employee database. This feature lets you add specific details to each people card.
Group people in tabs → This feature facilitates better organization of People cards by grouping them into categories. Separate tabs can be created for different location or departments, with each tab customizable with its own settings. This structure helps in easier navigation and helps locate specific information about team members or departments efficiently.
Pagination → Customize how pagination works, including setting the maximum number of People cards displayed per page and the total number of People visible. This option helps manage content volume and ensures a user-friendly experience.
Content
The Content tab is centered on selecting the source of the People information and defining what details will be displayed. Content can be organized either dynamically or manually, allowing for flexible configuration to meet specific needs.
Dynamic → By setting filters, the widget automatically updates to display new spaces that meet the defined criteria. This approach ensures that your people feed remains up-to-date without manual intervention.
Manual → This method allows for the manual selection of specific spaces to display. While it offers precise control over the content presented, it requires updates to include new employees.
Content Personalization
The personalization feature, powered by Cosmos, the Intranet for Confluence app, allows for targeted customization of your macro. With tabs, customize each one for specific themes; without tabs, tailor the entire macro for a unified focus.

Design
The Design tab, powered by Optics, is accessible for users holding a valid Optics license and offers a suite of options to make the Spaces overview more captivating.
Background → For people cards, there is an option to change the background, offering three choices: none, color, and image. When image or color is selected, it can be manually adjusted for every card using different options to customize the appearance further.
Padding → Adjust the padding around Spaces items for a cleaner, more spaced-out look, enhancing readability and focus on the content.
Border radius → Modify the border radius for a softer or more defined edge to the Spaces cards, allowing for customization that matches your brand or style preferences.
Image size → Customize the dimensions of background images within people cards to fit the overall design aesthetic, ensuring visual consistency and impact.
