Language Support (Localization)
Shoppie supports localization on multiple levels to provide a better experience for both administrators and customers. Different types of content are translated in different ways, depending on where the content is managed and who defines it.
Shoppie currently has three levels of localization:
Static app content (app interface localization)
This includes predefined text inside the app, such as settings, labels, buttons, help texts, info messages, and system messages. This content is created and maintained by Caelor.Admin-defined content
This includes content configured by Shoppie administrators, such as the Shoppie Panel title, shop name, catalog descriptions, and other custom texts. This content is managed directly by the admin.Assets-based content
This includes product and catalog information synced from Jira Assets, such as categories, attributes, attribute values, product names, and descriptions. This content depends on the data available in Assets.
Default language and user language settings
English is the default language in Shoppie.
For logged-in Jira Service Management users, Shoppie displays supported translations based on the language selected in the user’s Atlassian account preferences.
Users can change their language in:
Account settings → Account preferences → Language
If the selected language is supported by Shoppie, the available translated content is displayed in that language. If the selected language is not supported, or if a translation is not available, Shoppie falls back to English.
Static app content
Static app content refers to all predefined text that is part of the Shoppie application interface. This includes areas such as:
App settings
Configuration screens
Info buttons
System messages
Labels and field names
Default help texts
This content is defined and maintained by Caelor. It is not edited directly by Shoppie administrators.
Shoppie uses Localazy to manage translations for static app content. Localazy allows us to maintain translations in a structured way and continuously add support for new languages. At the moment, Shoppie supports the following languages for static app content:
English (EN)
German (DE)
Portuguese (PT-BR)
Additional languages will be added over time based on customer needs and product priorities.
Admin-defined content
Admin-defined content includes text that is configured directly by Shoppie administrators. This can include content such as the Shoppie Panel title, shop name, catalog descriptions, and other custom texts shown to customers.
In settings, when there is admin defined content, there is an option to add a translation for that information. Clicking the globe icon opens the available languages, where translations can be added.
Assets-based content
Assets-based content includes all product and catalog information that Shoppie syncs from Jira Assets. This includes object type names, categories, attributes, and attribute values.
This content is managed separately from static app content because it comes from the customer’s Assets configuration. Shoppie provides an Attribute Translations section where administrators can manage translations for this synced content.
Administrators can:
Add a new language
Translate attributes
Translate attribute values
Search and filter translation keys
Download a translation template as a JSON file
Upload completed translations as a JSON file
Edit or delete configured languages
Each Assets object type shows the number of translation keys, translation progress, and whether it is used in a catalog. After opening an object type, administrators can review all available keys and add translations for the selected language.
If a value is not translated, Shoppie will display the original source value from Assets. This ensures that catalog content remains visible even when translations are incomplete.
