#1 → Manual data entry: challenges and process

The first method for filling the Employee Database involves manual entry by HR or IT departments. This process can be particularly demanding for larger teams, as it requires inputting each piece of information individually. Although there are minor shortcuts like copy-pasting, it remains a time-intensive task, primarily when the data already exists in other formats or systems. This manual approach, while straightforward, demands significant effort and attention to detail.

#2 → Profile updates

The second method for populating the Employee Database leverages the power of self-service by asking employees to input their information directly into their user profiles. Since these profiles are linked to the employee database, any information employees add or update is automatically reflected in the database. This approach is highly efficient and has been the preferred method for many of our users. By simply sharing a link to the profile page across communication channels, most employees are willing and able to complete their profiles. The process is quick, generally taking no more than 10 minutes, and significantly reduces the administrative burden, making it an ideal strategy for maintaining an up-to-date and comprehensive employee database.
