The flexibility to assign administrative responsibilities is key to efficient and effective intranet management. The Cosmos admin role enhances permission management within our intranet app. With this role, any user can now be granted privileges equivalent to Confluence administrators, allowing for increased flexibility and control over the app's configuration.

This functionality is particularly important for big organizations where the primary responsibility for building and managing the intranet may not rest with Confluence admins but with individuals or teams more closely aligned with internal communications and employee engagement, such as HR departments.

Steps to assign Cosmos admins

  1. From your Confluence navigation bar, access Cosmos by selecting it from the Apps dropdown.

  2. Within Cosmos, proceed to the Settings area.

  3. In the Settings menu, locate and click on General Settings.

  4. Within General Settings, click on the Cosmos Admins tab.

  5. Use the user picker to search for and select the users you wish to designate as Cosmos admins. This tool allows you to easily find and add individuals based on their names.

The selected users are now empowered as Cosmos admins and can manage various aspects of the intranet within Cosmos. It's important to note that while they have control over the Cosmos settings and configurations, they do not gain Confluence admin rights. This means they cannot make changes to Confluence settings outside of the Cosmos environment.

By using these steps, you make sure the right people can manage your intranet. This helps tailor it to what your organization needs, making a more connected and engaged workplace.
