#2 Assign Cosmos admin permissions

The Cosmos admin role allows any user to be granted permissions similar to Confluence admins, offering more flexibility in managing the intranet. This is especially useful in large organizations where HR or internal communications teams, rather than Confluence admins, handle intranet setup and maintenance.

Steps to assign Cosmos admins

  1. From your Confluence navigation bar, access Cosmos by selecting it from the Apps dropdown.

  2. Within Cosmos, proceed to the Settings area.

  3. In the Settings menu, locate and click on General Settings.

  4. Within General Settings, click on the Cosmos Admins tab.

  5. Use the user picker to search for and select the users you wish to designate as Cosmos admins.

Cosmos admins can manage intranet settings without Confluence admin rights. This ensures the right people shape the intranet to fit organizational needs and boost engagement.
