#2 Import Assets

When importing Assets to your catalog for the first time, you have two options:

  1. Import object schema: This option allows you to import an entire object schema, including all object types available. Before finalizing the import, administrators can choose to exclude specific object types if needed, providing flexibility right from the start.

  2. Import object types manually: This option lets you select individual object types from various schemas, allowing for a more selective approach to building your catalog.

In both cases, you can still add or remove object types from different schemas or add child categories as needed to further customize the catalog. This flexibility ensures a tailored setup that meets your specific requirements.

Import object Schema

When you import the complete object schema, it won't automatically update or populate with new object types added later. Manual intervention or additional configuration may be required to incorporate these new additions. However, products within the synced object types will update automatically.

Once the object schema is selected, the Assets tree will be fetched and displayed. This provides an overview of all the object types that will act as categories inside the shop. From this screen, you can also select or deselect any object types or categories you don’t want to include in the shop.

Import object types manually

If you need to add just one object type to the catalog without importing an entire object schema, or if you want to create a catalog with object types from different schemas, you should use this option.

Object schema: Select an object schema from which the object types will be filtered.

Object type: Select an object type to import as a catalog category.

AQL filter: Optional AQL filter to further narrow down the asset selection. t is a dynamic feature and can be used for improving the admin use experience. For example, show products if the In Stock attribute bigger or equal 1.
