Sync guest users

Sync guest users

Guest users in Confluence are external collaborators who can be invited to access a single space within a Confluence site. This feature is useful for working with clients, contractors, or partners who only need limited access.

Key characteristics of guest users:

  • Guest users do not count toward the licensed user limit.

  • Access is limited to one Confluence space.

  • Depending on granted permissions, guest users may view, comment, or edit content within that space.

  • They cannot browse the People directory, search across the entire site, or view content outside the assigned space.

  • Permissions are managed through standard space permission settings and page restrictions.

This functionality is available on Confluence Premium and Enterprise plans only.

Guest users will only see content they are permitted to access in Confluence. The intranet follows all Confluence permission settings, only the spaces where guest users have access will be visible to them in Cosmos. No additional data is shown beyond what is already allowed in Confluence.
