Caelor Style guide

Caelor Style guide

The Caelor Style guide helps maintain a consistent look and feel across all Confluence pages, blogs, and knowledge articles, while reflecting the company’s brand and identity in every detail to ensure communication remains clear, professional, and on-brand.

The Caelor Style guide is available with an active Optics installation and license. Once configured, the setup is also used by Cosmos, Caelor’s intranet solution, to apply corporate and intranet colors consistently across pages, news, and other content.

Setting up the Optics Style guide

If the Style guide is not configured, Atlassian default colors and rounding are applied. For full brand alignment, configuring the Style guide is recommended. Admins or users with special permissions will see an Edit Style guide button, which starts a 5-step setup.

A live preview is shown throughout the setup, making it easy to see how changes will look in practice.

Step 1: Define brand colors

Set the primary, secondary, and additional brand colors that will be used across all Caelor products. These colors appear as predefined options in color pickers, making it simple to apply the right palette when building pages.

Colors can be selected from predefined Atlassian palettes or added as custom values. In both cases, each accent color is paired with a text color to ensure readability.

Step 2: Map colors for dark theme

Define how brand colors from the light theme translate into the dark theme to ensure visual consistency across Caelor products. No manual adjustments are required, colors automatically adapt in the dark theme based on the rules defined here.

Step 3: Define Dex colors

Dex uses palettes of three colors instead of a single color. This approach provides the contrast and variation needed when building complete pages or presentations, ensuring that all elements work together visually. Predefined Dex palettes are available, but custom palettes can also be created and adapted to match the brand style.

Step 4: Define corner style

Set the default corner style for all components such as cards, buttons, and image sliders. From sharp edges to fully rounded corners, this choice ensures a consistent visual appearance across Caelor products.

Step 5: Define Button style

Set the default primary button that will be used across all pages. Both color and style are defined here, ensuring that call-to-action elements remain consistent with the overall Style guide.

How colors and corners are applied

Colors and corner style defined in the Style guide are applied across Caelor products to ensure a consistent and unified look in both light and dark themes.

  • Accent color – defines the main visual style and is applied to key elements such as buttons, labels, and backgrounds.

  • Text color – sets the color of text that appears on elements using the accent color, ensuring readability and contrast.

In the color picker for components, Style guide colors appear as quick-access options, making it simple to apply brand-approved palettes when building pages. At the same time, it is always possible to pick a custom color, defining both the accent and text color manually.

By default, text colors adapt automatically to the selected accent color for optimal contrast, but they can be overridden when needed. In some modules, only the accent color is used, such as in cases where no text is required, so the design stays clean and consistent.

Corner style from the Style guide are applied consistently across all components, such as cards, buttons, and image sliders, to create a unified appearance. Predefined corner radiuses can be applied quickly, but a custom radius can also be set at any time for full flexibility.
