Field-level edit permissions
Field creators can now define who can edit specific custom fields. For instance, when using MoSCoW for prioritization, only product managers can be allowed to modify the values. These permissions are applied on view screens, not on create screens. This feature provides greater control and ensures easier, more secure field management.

Switching to UI Kit 2
We’ve upgraded the Fields app by transitioning from UI Kit 1 to the latest version, UI Kit 2. This change brings several important improvements:
Enhanced performance: UI Kit 2 is optimized for faster load times and smoother interactions, ensuring a more responsive experience for users.
Modern design elements: Enjoy a more modern, sleek design for a better user experience across all devices, aligning with Atlassian's current design system.
Increased flexibility: UI Kit 2 offers more flexibility in terms of customization and component usage, allowing us to implement new features with improved functionality.
Future: Atlassian has officially deprecated UI Kit 1 and will stop supporting it in February 2025. Migrating to UI Kit 2 now ensures uninterrupted use of the app and access to future updates.
By embracing UI Kit 2, we are able to offer better performance, more advanced features, and a smoother experience overall in the future.

Jira Service Management (JSM) Support
We are excited to announce that Fields now fully supports displaying custom fields in Jira Service Management (JSM), a feature that has been highly requested since the beginning. After working closely with Atlassian to overcome previous blockers, we are finally ready to introduce this capability.
Supported fields in JSM include MoSCoW, Rating, T-Shirt Size, Traffic Light, Multilevel Select, Secure Fields, Currency, Colored Labels, Issue Picker, Progress, Unit, and Min/Max.

Localization support for currency and decimal Fields

We're thrilled to announce a strategic addition to our Custom Field Suite, the WSJF (Weighted Shortest Job First) field. This feature draws from the renowned prioritization model used widely in the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology, where tasks are sequenced for maximum economic benefit.
The WSJF Custom Field facilitates effective decision-making and prioritization by calculating the relative cost of delay divided by the relative job duration. IMPORTANT: Single and Multiple select pickers deprecated
Existing select picker fields will work with all old features and functionalities. Created fields are still visible and editable within the app configuration and Jira screens. New users won’t be able to create new fields.
Instead of existing feature, we have added an universal multilevel select picker with both single and multiple options. The new field has improved interface and way better user experience.

This feature allows you to add numerical data accompanied by predefined units, providing a whole new dimension to your data representation within Jira.
The Numerical Unit Custom Field opens up a wide range of use cases, from measuring the size of your software (in KB, MB, GB), tracking time spent on an issue (in minutes, hours, days), quantifying resources (in units, boxes, packs), to any other scenario that requires a numerical representation.
