#11 Setup People Widgets and Org. Charts

This guide details how to connect the employee database with our People widgets, Upcoming Birthdays, Work Anniversary, New Starters, and Org. Charts. These widgets are integral to our intranet solution, helping to streamline communication and information accessibility across your organization.

This configuration also supports Pulse macros, enabling you to use Cosmos widgets as standalone components within your system. This flexibility allows for enhanced customization and integration of Cosmos features directly into your workflows.

From your Confluence navigation bar, access Cosmos by selecting it from the Apps dropdown.
Within Cosmos, proceed to the Settings area.
In the Settings menu, locate and click on General Settings.
Within People Directory section, click on the Widgets and Org. Charts tab.

Upcoming Birthdays

To display upcoming employee birthdays, select the "Birthday" or any other relevant date column in your database. This setting will show birthdays for the next six months. Only columns with recurring date formats are selectable to ensure accurate tracking of annual events.

Work Anniversary

For work anniversaries, choose the "Hire Date" or another appropriate date column. This configuration will display anniversaries for the upcoming six months, and only recurring date formats can be used to accurately mark these yearly milestones.

New Starters

To setup new starters widget, select the "Hire Date" or another suitable date column in your database. This setting will display the start dates of new employees over the upcoming three months. Similar to Work Anniversary widget, only columns formatted with non-recurring date data are selectable, ensuring precise tracking of these important dates.
