How to use

Please follow these steps to insert an Announcements macro on a Confluence page:

  1. Navigate to the Confluence page you wish to edit or create a new page.

  2. Once in edit mode, either click the plus icon in the navigation bar (insert elements) or press '/' on your keyboard to bring up the macro list.

  3. Type "Optics" in the search bar, then choose the Announcements macro from the options displayed.

When the configuration dialog opens, it guides you through customizing your button, with a live preview showing changes in real-time. Once you're satisfied, click Save to add the button to your Confluence page. If you decide not to proceed, clicking Cancel will cancel the setup without inserting the macro.

Layout tab

In the Layout tab of the drawer, users can define the style and view of their announcements, along with selecting which elements to display. These elements may vary depending on the chosen design style, but typically include icons, dates, times, text, participants and arrows/links.

Content tab

The Content tab allows users to specify the content for selected announcements, including the title, overline, description, date, link, and color theme. All these options are also accessible through inline editing.

Links

Easily link Confluence content (pages and attachments) and external URLs to your announcements, giving them a polished and professional appearance. Additionally, use the email option to open the mail client with a simple click on the button.
